MileStone — Privacy Policy

1. Who Operates MileStone

MileStone is independently developed and operated by Tomer Fredarow under the ValuePeaks brand, located in Tel Aviv, Israel ("we", "us", or "the Developer").

2. Overview

MileStone is a road kilometer locator application for Israeli roads. We are committed to protecting user privacy and collecting only the minimum information necessary to provide the app's functionality.

MileStone does not require account registration and is designed to operate without tracking users.

3. Information We Collect

MileStone is designed to collect minimal information.

3.a) Search Queries

When you search for a road number and kilometer marker, the query is sent to our server solely to retrieve GPS coordinates.

• Search queries are not stored.
• Search queries are not associated with any user identity.
• We do not create user profiles.

3.b) Location Data

If you grant location permission, your device location is used only to display your position on the map.

• Location data is processed locally on your device.
• Location data is not transmitted to our servers.
• You may revoke location permission at any time through your device settings.

4. Automatically Processed Technical Information

To operate the service securely and reliably, standard technical information may be temporarily processed when the app communicates with our server. This may include:

• IP address
• Basic request metadata
• Time and date of request

This information:

• Is used only for security and operational purposes
• Is not used for tracking, profiling, or advertising
• Is not retained longer than necessary for system integrity

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, behavioral tracking, or profiling technologies.

5. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• Names
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• User accounts
• Advertising identifiers
• Persistent device identifiers
• Location history

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising purposes.

6. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA Notice)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the limited processing described above is based on:

• Legitimate interest, to provide the core functionality of the app
• User consent, where device location permission is granted

7. Data Retention

• Search queries are not stored.
• Location data is not stored.
• Temporary technical logs, if generated, are retained only as necessary for security and system maintenance.

8. Third-Party Services

8.a) OpenStreetMap

MileStone uses OpenStreetMap to display maps. When viewing the map, your device connects directly to OpenStreetMap servers. Their use of information is governed by the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy: https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy

8.b) External Navigation Apps

If you choose to navigate using Waze, Google Maps, or other navigation applications, you will be redirected to those services. Those applications operate under their own privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

9. Data Security

All communication between the app and our server is encrypted using HTTPS.

While reasonable technical safeguards are implemented, no method of transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. International Data Transfers

Depending on server hosting location, limited technical request data may be processed outside your country of residence. Hosting providers are selected with appropriate security standards.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to:

• Request access to personal data
• Request correction or deletion
• Restrict or object to processing
• File a complaint with a supervisory authority

Because MileStone does not maintain user accounts or store personal data, certain rights may not be technically applicable.

MileStone is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law in their jurisdiction and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the "Last updated" date.

Continued use of the app after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
